If you do, great — you can upload it directly. If not, we can connect you with our creative team to produce a professional, Clearcast-approved ad at an affordable cost.

Yes. Every advert goes through Clearcast (the UK’s TV ad approval body) to make sure it’s compliant with regulations. We’ll guide you through this step to keep things smooth.

That said, if you need to make changes before your advert goes live, please contact us as soon as possible — we’ll always do our best to help adjust or reschedule your campaign where broadcaster rules allow.

Will my TV campaign definitely deliver results?

TV advertising is one of the most powerful ways to reach audiences, but like all forms of marketing, results can vary depending on factors outside our control — including your advert’s creative content, your offer, your audience, and market conditions.

Can I choose which channels my ad appears on?

BookMyAdvert is designed to place your commercial in front of the right audience, wherever they are. As a result, selecting specific channels isn’t available through this platform.

Why are there different costs per view?

A higher Cost Per View unlocks more detailed and specific targeting options, helping you reach a more refined audience.

I've booked my campaign – but my ad isn't appearing on all the channels listed. Why?

We place your ad wherever your target audience is most active. While they usually span multiple channels, there are times when we may not be able to access one or more of the platforms listed. Rest assured, the audience targeting and number of impressions you’ve booked will always be fulfilled.

I’ve no idea what I need creatively—where do I start?

No problem! Contact our sister company, TVADSWORK Limited, who will guide you through the process with clear, impartial advice and help shape the best, most cost-effective creative solution for your campaign.

How do I know my campaign is receiving the right number of impressions?

The frequency of data reporting varies from broadcaster to broadcaster so to keep things simple we produce a monthly campaign delivery report, sent within 7 days of the previous month end, subject to the individual broadcaster’s terms and conditions.

What happens when my campaign ends?

Once your campaign has finished you will receive confirmation and a post campaign analysis.

Can I change my advertising message mid campaign?

Yes, you can but please bear in mind that any new creative will incur an additional production cost and there could be a delay while we apply for clearance and approval from the ASA.

I’ve been using my creative asset on social media for ages. Why do I suddenly need ‘ClearCast’ approval?

Social media platforms and ‘broadcast’ TV follow very different rules. On social media, your advert only has to meet the platform’s own standards. On TV, every advert must be independently checked and approved by Clearcast, the body that ensures ads meet UK broadcasting regulations.

 This process protects both advertisers and audiences — making sure claims are accurate, content is appropriate, and your ad is legally compliant before it airs. Don’t worry: BookMyAdvert will guide you through this step and make sure everything is in place for your campaign to run smoothly.

I’ve been using my creative on social media for ages, and now I’m told it’s not ‘technically compliant’ for TV. Why?

Social media and broadcast TV are governed by very different standards. On social platforms, ads only need to meet the platform’s own policies. On TV, every single advert must comply with strict technical specifications (sound, picture quality, aspect ratios, file formats, etc.) as well as advertising regulations.

That means a video that works perfectly well on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube might not meet the technical broadcast standards required by ITV, Sky, or Channel 4. It’s not about the creativity — it’s about ensuring the file is broadcast-safe and compliant for national transmission.

I want to use SmartAds but don’t have a ClearCast approved advert. Nor do I want to pay for one. What can I do?

Assuming it’s technically compliant and meets the minimum criteria for sound, picture quality, aspect ratios, file formats, etc., then we can book a campaign on the broadcasters YouTube channels. There may even me options on Prime Video Adverts. But please bear in mind that your advert still must adhere to the UK’s ASA rules and regulations.

Do I have any say on where I can place my advert if booking a SmartAd?

You have the most important say! Depending on the level of targeting chosen, you can place your advert in front of exactly the people you want to reach. The beauty of SmartAds is that we don’t focus on specific brands or broadcasters, we focus purely on where your audience live. And depending on spend, that could be mobile, desktops and / or TV sets.
